Soccer is an international game and is played by more than 100 countries across the Globe. It is very popular in the western countries and is gaining popularity in countries like India and Sri Lanka. Yet, Indian Football Team strive to prove themselves at Global level. The level of this game can be predicted by our present rank in Official Fifa rankings (164 out of 207 countries).The need to promote this game has been felt since a very long time as only watching the gam,e can never help. To do the same, India’s largest telecom company Bharti Airtel has launched a special program called Airtel Rising Stars, which will seek for best soccer talent at a tender of under 16 in the entire country.
They will choose 12 footballers in total who will get the chance to attend a full paid trip to training camp of Manchester United for a training camp. The duration of this camp will be 7 days i.e. one week. The program is expected to start in mid of July 2012 and it will last for around 3-months.
It will be conducted in 16 cities across the country including main metropolitan like Delhi, Kolkata, Begaluru, Goa, Calicut, Jaipur and Chandigarh. This program is expected to get a good response and State Football Associations are ready to give a helping hand.
